To Russia with Love
In July and August 2012 it was London’s turn to host the most prestigious of sporting events. Inno-Therm®/Métisse® had a part to play in this event and was used for an acoustic application in a venue at the London Games 2012. To avoid creating unnecessary waste the insulation used at the London Games 2012 is being sent to Russia and will be re-used at the XXII Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.
We haven’t always been able to promote our involvement in the London Games 2012, because of the strict rules put in place by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that did not allow companies to announce their involvement in the games unless they were an official sponsor.
This did not seem fair to the many thousands of small businesses that were involved in the Games; being able to promote involvement in the games is great press for any company. It also seemed to contradict the idea of an economic legacy of the Games, especially if small British companies cannot use their involvement in the Games to help create growth and sales.
However after many hard hours in talks with the British Olympic Committee we are delighted that we can now say our product was used at the London Games 2012.
