Anns Grove Primary School
Natural fibre recycled cotton insulation was used on the development of Anns Grove Primary School in Sheffield. The school provides a top class teaching and learning environment for local children and the community, and is an environmentally sustainable building.
The project also played a key role in the regeneration of the local area by expanding community involvement through use, access and, where possible, local procurement of building materials.
Natural fibre recyled cotton insulation was chosen for this project because it is a social enterprise based in Sheffield. Nick James of White Design, the Architects behind the Anns Grove project, explained, “With natural fibre recyled cotton insulation we found a product that happily answers our objectives in sourcing an environmentally friendly insulation. Natural fibre recyled cotton insulation has slightly better thermal properties, so we were able to reduce timber stud sizes”.
